Started early this morning with a scrambled egg and bacon (Steve had sausage) plus "grits". Must be an acquired taste for these, which I couldn't acquire. They seem to be like a porridge mix or sort of a Tobago? pudding. The lady at the C&B Bar & Grill said that they were Mahogany based. Still none the wiser. Later found out they are actually ground corn mixed with water. Staple food of the poorer people, mainly in the south. Back on the I-95 South and headed into Georgia. Passed ...

... special treat! Not many classic warbirds at our cross-country gas stops;-) Now back in the relatively cool mountain climate after the swelter in Florida, the plan is to get the Highlander repacked and restocked for the trek across the country. I have some work to do on airplanes (Tiger, Highlanders, etc) before I leave, so it may be a couple days before I head ...

... had appeared, they went zipping off down the river, creating a huge wake that nearly knocked our little boat over! It was all a very frightening experience. I don’t think I would recommend going for an airboat ride as a way to enjoy the beauty of Florida, as you certainly won’t see any wildlife (they will be scared away by the insane noise of the engine miles before you arrive). After the airboat invasion has subsided we did end up seeing many beautiful birds ...

... now I see her hand in the family that we are: our cousins are like our siblings, our aunts and uncles like extra parents. Nobody’s a stranger in the Goldstein clan, for better or for worse.

We have grown into this group, each of us touched by her love and support individually. When we think of her, we will all remember Grandma at Jacksonville Beach. There was no way she could have lived a land-locked existence, and she and Pop-Pop taught us all the importance ...
