... of heating my water to a heat that rice would be comfortable cooking in, I sighed but still choked down as much of the almost-scalding water as my body would allow. I kept drinking the water, with the sun forcing it out of my pores almost quicker than I could drink it.

... Shell station and bby the time I got there, it was completely flat. Two and a half hours later, a tire guy, called by Cruise America, finally showed up to swap out the tire to the spare. The original tire wouldn't fit on the spare rack, so I had to carry it inside the RV.
I did manage to get 100 miles in and crashed hard at a Motel 6. What a bummer of a day!
Left Sonoma late, because we had to wait for Maingate to move our trailer....California is a whole new experience, would not want to live here at all because
1. I don't like seeing the air I breath
2. People are rude
3. People are impatient
4. And they are a strange bunch (everybody weres black socks with shorts and sneakers)
5. They talk funny
But I have to say there is some really nice scenery up in northern California.....

... in the world!). It's the perfect autumn scene with all the trees turning fiery reds, yellows and orange. The rice fields are full of water and have become home to the many migratory birds that are on their way South for the Winter... kind of like us!

... little point in going all the way to Reno, as the plan was, but set off south towards Sacramento. After all, we wouldn't have seen it in the dark, and this way we reduce the amount of driving needed tomorrow.
The motel isn't a lot to shout about, but at least its cheap, and we didn't have to hunt around for a vacancy.
