    ... mile away from the berry farm. So we drove over to Pinto lake which was more like a large pond. We decided to take the canoe out for a couple of hours and on Dave’s very first cast he caught a huge bass. We paddled our way along the edge of the lake and he caught two more.     ... wildlife preserves and cool hiking spots along with the beach and a pier to talk with the seals and otters in a bay area. After speaking with the seals, we went went to gaze at the jellyfish at fisherman's wharf which at one point we saw at least a dozen and a half- one got ran over and cut to a few different pieces by a boat coming in. After that sad sight, we walked along the pier and busted out a picnic lunch and looked out at the otters. It was super magical ...

    Thursday October 24. At sea. A beautiful sunny morning. Had breakfast with two lovely women named Esther and Betty. From Tucson. They are on this ship for 46 days, cruising the South Pacific ending in singapore. Went to ipad seminar. Apps to try, notability, iPhoto . Had a wonderful Caesar salad at the buffet for lunch.     We decide to go to the local Chinese for dinner and just as we get set to take the short walk down there tragedy strikes. Peter can't find his wallet and passport...we turn the place upside down.

    We look everywhere in the car right through the hotel.... and the pressure is starting to build...what are we going to do if they are gone?

    After a couple of hours we headed back to Monterey to try to snag a late afternoon lunch or early dinner of seafood. Went to Cannery Row in Monterey and again the temps were almost frigid--nice when compared with the soaring temps away from the beach area and water.
