          We're Getting There

A travel blog entry by 9lives on Oct 28, 2014

... A stroll through there only yielded a flower vase. Then it was off to Lowes which I think we finally found - in spite of the BMW navigation system. After pouncing on a sales person we managed to get some information about various bar-b-qs and ended up buying a Weber with some assembly required. Finding a cover was another matter! Home Depot came to our rescue for that but not without some waiting.

Now to figure out all the technology!

          Preparation Begins

Although we don't take off on our adventure for another week, today begins the official preparation. I checked my new camera for compatibility with my computer and looked into starting this blog. So far so good.
The idea for this trip started almost on a whim. My wife Mary and I decided, since we were now retired, we could go almost anywhere we wanted on a driving trip with only the most rudimentary schedule and all ...

          Inspection Day

... priced. We agreed to meet the owner tomorrow morning. In the meantime we finally enjoyed a 2 for 1 Happy Hour and really enjoyed the music of Rocky and the Rollers. We tried to call Heather to show her what she could look forward to but the connection was not the best.

The cool wind sent me home for stir-fry. We are so pleased to have our family join us over the next couple of ...

... Thunder Bay. No way I can go from mid 80 degree temperatures to snow! We also saw Michael toddling around trying to get Daisy among other things. Today was Heather's last day of work. Her contract is up. It's too bad she wasn't able to join us in Florida.

Tonight's dinner was Stone Crab Claws followed by chicken/mango/strawberry salad on the lanai. Not too shabby for a final scratch dinner before we head home.

... to a Villages pool. It wasn't too crowded when we first arrived but started to fill up later this aft. The water was certainly perfect.

Tonight it's one more tour around the markets at Sumter Landing before we dig into the leftovers that need to eaten before we leave. Saw an alligator stalking a heron, cormorant and egret today. The Palmer course always seems to have them - alligators that is.
