Although we don't take off on our adventure for another week, today begins the official preparation. I checked my new camera for compatibility with my computer and looked into starting this blog. So far so good.
The idea for this trip started almost on a whim. My wife Mary and I decided, since we were now retired, we could go almost anywhere we wanted on a driving trip with only the most rudimentary schedule and all ...
Can you believe this? We are in Ft. Lauderdale to start our cruise tomorrow, and the very first thing I did when I got here was drop the bag that had my laptop and my CAMERA in it! On the pavement! You know how I am about my camera. I think they are both OK, but if the pictures I take on the trip aren't that great, I'm on record as having a good excuse. ;)

Tonight it's one more tour around the markets at Sumter Landing before we dig into the leftovers that need to eaten before we leave. Saw an alligator stalking a heron, cormorant and egret today. The Palmer course always seems to have them - alligators that is.
