Greg's Version: The day started at the Wisconsin Visitors Center and Veterans Memorial. Not much to see. On to The Depot in Duluth, to see the railroad museum and ride the North Shore Zephyr. It is a nice museum. The star of the museum as far as I am concerned is the DM&IR 227 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone. The museum has several other historic pieces of …

Greg's Version: First up I drove to Tower MN to take the Soudan Underground Mine Tour. We arrive at the park at 11:15 and bought tickets for the noon tour. I took the opportunity to take some pictures before the tour. The tour starts with a 5 minute introduction followed by a 10 minute video about the mine's history. We picked up our hard hats and …

We decided that we would only stop if something exciting came along. About an hour into the drive something exciting came along, Schoolcraft State Park. I had read in history class that Schoolcraft had discovered the …

... to rain. It didn’t but nor did the wind let up. It was howling off Lake Superior when I got there and the waves were crashing onto the shore. Nothing placid about it! Anyway, I found a spot about 1/2 an hour north of Duluth to hunker down for the night.

Just figured out that I’ve travelled 5500 km since leaving home. ...

Got back home yesterday. I can't even begin to tell what a great adventure it has been. The Mouse performed without missing a beat and everybody got along as we should. We'd like to thank all the people who encouraged us along the way. At every stop we made the interest in what we were doing was astounding. The visits from the Mang sisters, cousin Ed and Amanda Nelson, Dale Alger, cousin Judy Lambert Minemyer, John ...
