Stayed here as I had stayed in the Holiday Inn in Tucumcari the night before - which was excellent. This place was nowhere near as clean and just generally was a downgrade on the previous nights stay. Not impressed.

... Sears and now it only seemed fair that poor Randy got one as well. Between the sales and discounts at Kohls, got a great deal on the stuff and again, we hit the road. Left Okhlahoma behind, although I still wish we would have looked at the prices of an OKC Thunder playoff game, I know, I know, it would have been big money but maybe worth it? Well, we arrived here in Shamrock and it's interesting what gets classed as an RV site. I'm ...

Some of our travels today took us on Route 66, the highway that stretches from Chicago to Santa Monica. Much of the route we took through Oklahoma on Interstate 40 is the original Route 66. We did travel on a segment of Route 66, to the town of Elk City. We went into the National Route 66 Museum and saw pictures; antique cars and motorcycles; and re-created ...

... It takes 15 minutes to get back on the road since the traffic picked up tremendously. Trucks all over the place again. Oklahoma City is a big city---last time we saw it, it was night time. Doesn’t look that different during the day. Rolling hills in Oklahoma. Interesting….thought it was totally flat, but not so. We’re also gaining altitude. Allen drives most of today. I’d say he was ...
