Day 6 - Nanaimo, BC, Canada to Seattle, WA

What a difference the day makes! Ya know, the trip is a lot more pleasant when the rain stops and the whether hovers at 60 instead of at 50! We watched sunrise over the water in Nanaimo and had a chance to make a slow start, stop and get a good cup of coffee (I'm having terrible withdrawals) and just hang out a little and process the last several days. We headed to the Ferry for a 10:30 departure and prepare the 1 hour and 40 minute passage to Vancouver. It's always fun to meet other motorcyc...

SEATTLE

We arrived in Seattle to a beautiful, mid-70's day. Our driver told us that this was expected for the next 2 days and was very unusual. It remained beautiful for the entire time we were there. We left Sunday afternoon and it was in the 60's. We stayed about 4 blocks from the Space Needle and entertainment area. Seattle has done a great job creating an area dedicated to parks and recreation. There was a music festival going on and we spent the evening enjoying the various musici...

Superb Seattle

Deb, Clay, Nath and I caught the bus to Seattle after work on Friday. The bus is only supposed to take 3.5 hours but it took five due to the US customs only having one officer on, even being a Friday night! We found a sports bar and went for a couple of drinks near where we were staying and then hit the sack. On Saturday morning we went up the Space Needle, the iconic structure that looks like it is out of that cartoon The Jetsons. It was a great 360 degree view of the city, Puget Sound and O...

Seattle

Arrived Seattle on the same day as departure due to the time difference between Malaysia and the States. Was picked up by the travel agency's representative, Richard and was brought to the hotel. Did nothing on the first day, had a walk to Space Needle and around downtown Seattle during the night. Took the monorail to downtown.

A little story about nothing.

... my improper usage of trivial things like grammar and punctuation. Also is the possibility of misspellings and a misusage of vocabulary.

Thus said, I will continue.

I am currently sitting in the Sea-Tac airport. This would normally be decidedly uninteresting and completely pointless if my process getting to Terminal S12 hadn’t been so entirely foreign to me. Hmm. Foreign while still in the U.S ...

Purchased Drugs

Today I picked up malaria pills, pills for the inevitable stomach bug I will get, bug repellant for my clothing and bug repellant for my skin. I just don't have much more to say than that. Oh, and I was yelled at in a Quiznos today. IN A QUIZNOS!!

... at school. I took Electronics. Anyhoo, I won't bore you with much more about the UK, since Liam went over it with wit and aplomb last time. I'll press on to the rest of the journey. Liam and I left the UK for the USA on September 12th. We'd run out of money around the 10th. That is to say, we'd run out of money for the UK. We figured they had enough of their own. Just to illustrate the wallet-stopping point a lil better here, let me give you an example. (Eb clumsily fits a ...

A Leisurely Day in Seattle...Yeah Right!

... to build one and then never paid them. When the totem pole burnt down, the city asked them to build another one. This time the Indians required payment in advance. When they got it they let the city know they considered it payment for the first, and refused to build the new one. Therefore, the totem pole viewed today by all the tourists, right outside the Underground Tour Entrance, is actually a ...

Blown up over the US border

... 1970 VW Beetle´s rear-mounted engine. Not to worry. By some fluke we were on the crest of a long sweeping slope, so the engine was turned off and we were in ¨coasting mode¨ until further notice. The queue wasn´t moving any faster, so I took the opportunity to get out and walk across the border while admiring the cheesy slogans and flags adorning every inch of no man´s land. Besides, it was bloody hot in the Beetle, and a distinct lack of ...

We headed out for a couple of drinks after dinner, but forgot that we were back in the states and one of the guys forgot his id so we couldnt get served. So we wandered back to the hostel via the shop to pick up a few drinks and ended up playing card games in the hostel and just chatting.
