    ... broken sliding door of our mini van, we finally reach home. We found hand-written "Welcome Back!" signs from the neighbor's kids on our front door, which was really touching.

    This concludes our trip and our travel blog. I hope you enjoyed following along. For us this trip will be an unforgettable adventure, and will hopefully also stay in our kid's memory for their life time.

    ... to swap badges with us. We were all issued with a bag, cool drink bottles, a camp tee shirt, pen and ID lanyard. It was really hot, but there was a breeze and in the shade it was really pleasant. We tucked into chicken wraps and salad for dinner followed by strawberries and cream. We spent some time chatting to Idaho Girl Scouts and then hit our beds for a good nights sleep ready for camp to start properly tomorrow. ...

    ... of the valley and the mountains, including Half Dome. Our heated tent did the job of keeping us warm and keeping out the bears. Actually, we were a little disappointed we didn't see a bear but at least Martin and Steve got to see a coyote up close and personal - M has the photographic evidence... For our final weekend we spent a day in hipster Oakland and on the beach in Alameda followed by our first ever NFL American Football game - Oakland Raiders vs Denver ...

    This morning we packed up, had breakfast and headed towards San Francisco. We travelled in convoy as Ginny was going to drop her car off at Ingrid's in Oakland before carrying on. Once we had done that we all headed in, we drove through Downtown and headed up Van Ness to get to Lombard, oh my it is steep, wouldn't like to do a handbrake hill start on it! We got to the famous crocked street, got our first view of Alcatraz, ...
