... for the next morning when we'll go to the orphanage to visit the kids. I can't wait to see them again!! On New Years Eve, we are going to throw a party in Ireen's village. We'll have tons of glow sticks, snacks, drinks, and hopefully some music and games. We'll have to find someone with a battery operated radio. On New Years day is my friend Anna's birthday. She is the "mother" at one of the foster homes owned ...
Raleigh, North Carolina, United States hawaii14As I peer out the window from my exit row seat, I see the Queen City bidding me adieu as the sun sets on one of the biggest travel days of my life. It is finally here. I am off to New Zealand for a month. My fascination with this country first began over 8 years ago when I heard about a small ministry site called Capernwray that was on the north island. Although I did not get to attend its school, I have heard amazing stories ...

I had a turkey dinner, which was sliced turkey breast and enough stuffing for 3 NZ helpings of stuffing, baby carrots, mashed potato & gravy, cranberry relish & two huge biscuits – all for $9.99. Note – this was actually our ...

What kind of example are these people setting for their students? He was escorted to the lobby and watched as he had to delete the footage. He they returned to his seat and enjoyed the rest of the show.
For the record... NEVER film or take any pictures of a show. It is against the law. And don't do it in front of your students. It ...

Woodland Hills, North Carolina, United States woodlandhillsThe fifth day, we trained at the largest chicken plant in the nation: Mountaire. We flew to North Carolina. The people were so nice there! They loved what they did and that made me smile. They gave us a tour of the chicken plant and I don't know what I was thinking when I agreed to do it. I thought it would be fun, but instead, I have now become a vegetarian I think.
We started the tour and it seemed fine as you ...

... Markay left her cellphone in the car. No big deal, our cell phone wouldn't work in Ecuador anyway.
Flight to Atlanta was uneventful but departed and arrived early. With almost 3 hours to burn in the Atlanta airport, we visited some shops (way expensive), eat some lunch (way expensive) and rode the underground shuttle a couple of times. The boys love the shuttle train and could sit right at the front to see down the ...
... on the bus - something that my generation cannot comprehend. Irwin was in the middle of this, being the first African-American to graduate from University of North Carolina and a visible figure on the various sports teams when he was young. Meredythe and Irwin never thought they'd see this day. I dedicate this victory - if I may be so grand - to them, because they opened their house to me and tolerated me for two full weeks. That in itself is a test ! ;-) Thank you, Meredythe and Irwin !
