... were many locals saying prayers in the church. we then headed to the Loretto chapel built in 1873 which the miraculous staircase stood a remarkable work of art and craftsmanship, this too was a beautiful little chapel. ... so we added that into this leg of the journey. As fate would have it, we rolled in on Taco Tuesday! Heaven is all that can be described here. With full bellies we continued on our BB Tour to the Crossroads Motel where Jesse Pinkman was a constant guest. High on my bucket was (and I say was) Taos. Poor Tom drove about nine hours, some of them in a raging rain storm. Taos was a bust. We immediately headed for Santa Fe.
The ride, however to Taos was nothing short of spectacular. The landscapes were like paintings. We traveled through sage brush fields and majestic mountains. We miss so much of this beautiful country when we travel by plane.
