Capitol Reef

Day 3 - Capitol Reef, Goblin Valley State Park, sunset at Arches National Park. This was a day with a lot of driving, I think almost 300miles but the stops in the middle helped break up the day. I *loved* Capitol Reef, I would recommend driving the gravel road at the end of the scenic drive where the canyon walls start coming in closer together. Goblin Valley State Park was nice because of the unusual rock formations but in hindsight, I'm not sure it was worth the detour. When we got to Moab,...

Arches

Day 4 - We spent the entire day at Arches National Park, we didn't do the 3 mile hike to the Delicate Arch (time constraints and the previously mentioned fear of heights), instead we hiked the 0.5 mile trail to the upper viewpoint which I think gave us excellent views. We then hiked the trail at Devil's Garden at the end of the sceninc drive. The initial part of the hike to the Landscape Arch is pretty flat and easy. It becomes harder after that but I think it's worth it to hike up to the Nav...

Moab

Well, it's February, and I'm back on the road. Luckily I'm still employed which continues to give me the chance to see more of the US and travel internationally when I get the opportunity. Today brings me to Moab, Utah - by way of Denver and Grand Junction, Colorado. Probably the route I'd suggest for everyone to take, as the airport in Moab looks like nothing more than a farmer's backyard complete with a chicken fence and cow pastures. Descending into Grand Junction from Denver was absolutel...

Day 12; Journey to Moab

Another travelling day; hopefully this would be a lot easier!

After breakfast in the hotel, we stopped off at a Wholefoods store, a shop I've been dying to visit. Wow, it was as good as I thought. Lyn is converted as well! Apparently some stores are 3-4 blocks big! We stocked up on some goodies, and then
stopped off at the Olympic Park in Park City, where some of the Winter Olympics 2002 events were held. Wow, what a view from the park! We watched people ski down huge slopes then d...

Can we make it to Moab?

This day turned out to be much harder than we originally thought. We wanted to wait around to see James but he wasnt going to make it home until the afternoon so we went to breakfast and took off. The thought was that we could make it to Moab by mid afternoon, dinner at the latest.

Mother nature had other ideas. Out of Denver the weather really turned on us and it was a white out by the time we got to the tunnel. We thought we would be smooth sailing after this so we stopped in Vail t...

Historical Traveler Reviews of Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Moab, Ut

Very Comfortable

from 5Travelers
With 5 in our family, a suite is always appreciated. The suites here are the one-room variety, but the beds are comfortble and the room seemed quiet, though the hotel was fairly full. The breakfast is continental, but diverse and tasty. We would stay here again!

Best Motel on this vacation!

from rdrunr
This place was VERY nice. The front desk guy was very helpful and the motel was clean. The room itself was very nice and decorated very tastefully. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially if you have young children. The pool and hot tub are indoors and they will let you use it until after 10pm if you are quiet. I would say that this was the nicest motel that we stayed at on the entire trip. I think it was about $69 a night around the 23 of Feb,2005.

Nice clean place

from A TripAdvisor Member
I spent 2 nights there while visiting Arches and Canyonlands. Vary spacious room/suite with work table, small kitchen area, spacious bath. Clean and new. The continetal breakfast was nothing special. The high-speed interent access worked fine. My only complaints were that my room was next to the elevator and stairs and above the rear entrance, so there was noise late and early. Those dang bikers were up well before dawn banging around as they headed out.

Holiday Inn Express is a good deal

from AbqWizard
We didn't expect much from hotels in Moab, UT. However, the Holiday Inn Express motel is very nice. Good-sized rooms and a good breakfast included in the price made this a hotel that we would visit again.

The hotel is rather new, and everything is clean and not worn. It is a place I can recommend.

A cool retreat in hot Moab

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed here for three nights in August. The view of the hills from the north side is awesome, with beautiful sunset vistas. We had the two queen with sofa sleeper suite, which included a refrigerator/microwave and was quite large. Nice pool and spa, though a little over chlorinated. The breakfast was very good. Only problem was we had difficulties with the key cards and had to keep replacing them. Will stay here again if we journey back to beautiful Moab! Be sure to go on one of the many day long Colorado River excursions.

This is the best Hotel in town!!

from Prine041745
This is better than the average Holiday Inn Select, or even a Crown Plaza! Great front desk; Fantastic decor and beds that are not to be equaled. I can't think of enough nice things to say about every aspect of the hotel. The rooms on the north side have a fantastic vew of the mountains!!

AWESOME Holiday Inn Express

June 10, 2004 Fantastic hotel. Was upgraded to a King Suite...magnificent. New, crisp, clean. Nice breakfast included in rate. So convenient to Arches National Park. I will always stay here when in Moab.

Incredible Service

from davenaff
I visited Arches NP over Memorial Day weekend without making a reservation. Every hotel was booked, and I had car trouble.

My car coasted into the Holiday Inn parking lot hoping to get a room. They were also booked, but the staff was fantastic.

They helped us call around for other hotels, and provided us with recommendations of mechanics. After arranging to have our car towed out of Moab, we badly needed a bite to eat.

Its hard to describe how poorly we were doing at that point. We had just driven 30 hours, had our clutch fail, and were faced with very poor options for completing our trip.

Sandy, working at the front desk, offered us her car so that we could drive to the nearest restaurant to get a bite to eat. This incredible act of kindness was a fantastic boost to our morale and turned a disaster into a heart-warming story.

Great place

Very nice motel, as are all the new Holiday Inn Express we have visited.

Holiday Inn Express Moab

from dafajua
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express for two days and we loved it. The three story hotel (two elevators) is brand new. It has large and comfortable bedrooms, nicely decorated, with excellent mattresses. The bathrooms are very spacious. A free continental breakfast is offered in the mornings. It has a good-sized indoor pool. The hotel staff is friendly and attentive. You will enjoy this place.
