We can see for miles and miles
... could see the dust clouds coming from the back of the combines. But most of the time it seemed like a moonscape. The topography is quite flat and we could easily see 25 miles in front of us and on each side. North Dakota has a huge open pit coal mine and as we passed by it there were warning signs of explosives in the area. We also passed two more wind farms between Bismarck and Minot, these are even ...

... that is) lives on the river close by and it only lives there and in china so that was sorta cool. We also drove 2 hours out of our way to see the only porta potty on a post. Yay. Dumbest, Thing, Ever. It was pointless. We took a picture and left. So stupid.

Heading on to North Dakota
We drove a long day from International Falls to Minot. We drove out of Minnesota by way of Warroad, sneaking a peak at the Lake of the Woods. We stopped in Grand Forks and played a fun game of disc golf at a great course. Then on to MInot where we stayed a nice Sleep Inn that had a great water park with crazy fast slides. We settled in for another good night ...
Another 125 miles....
... boom in North Dakota for Oil Shale which means that the towns have grown up in no time to become huge sprawls of industrial growth. Williston's population has grown from 10,000 to 60,000 in a couple of years and I found out that places like McDonalds were having to offer double and triple wages to attract people to move there! There is no accomodation so the oil companies have set up "Man Camps" which look like long rows ...
