... where we had a reservation for the night. It was late enough that when we passed through Fort Worth, the traffic was still thick but moving fairly well.

It was late by the time we made it to the hotel, and we were ready for the break. It's a long drive across Texas.

Checked in to the rv park and gentleman working the desk actually was from Owensboro. Hadn't lived there for a while but knew of moonlight BBQ. Small world. Rode metro bus ($1.20) to river walk and went to Rita's and had 6 oz margerita followed by a 32oz texas margerita. Had sour cream chicken enchiladas and guacamole that was made by our waiter at our table. Yum ...

... by memorial meeting at 11am.
Lunch was immediately after the memorial meeting and from there people pretty much started cleaning and packing up the place to head home. For those heading north, the roads were likely to be icy and snowing in some areas. Some brethren and sisters had up to 9 hours driving ahead of them, coming from Oklahoma and Missouri. Others had 3 to 5 hours driving to get home.

... to finally say I've been to Texas, until we hit traffic. It took us 2 hours just to skirt the city. The roads are shaped like a spider web and we were definitely trapped like flies. They are continuing some monstrous highways as you will see in my pictures. The city itself has clusters of high rises. It took me awhile to figure that out.
