... level where we learnt all about the history behind the the founder, Madame Tussaud. She had made models dating back from the French Revolution. We watched a video on the production of Beyoncé's wax model. We didn't realise the number of hours it took to produce a model. The hair alone took 150 hours, start to finish. After Madame Tussaud's we decided to head back on the bus to the guitar record store. The entrance to the store had the hand ...

After a couple of days visiting the AFC team in Auckland we finally made it to the USA. I must say it takes ages going through passport control.....much much longer than in other parts of the world. One tends to loose a bit of patience after having sat through a long flight. Anyway we've made it ...

    CHAPTER 7: Santa Monica

A travel blog entry by madsandmike on Jun 09, 2014

We are currently sitting on one of the smallest planes we have ever been on. However, it is not as small as the plane that I travelled on from Kalgoorlie to Tjuntjuntjara. Santa Monica is a beachside city, a little bit more upmarket than ...

A lot of famous films have been shot in the hotel including The Italian Job, Ghostbusters, The Bodyguard, so we had to have a cocktail in the bar to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our room was on the 11the floor, which was great until…… there was a fire alarm at5.30am and ...

    Still the 5th March

The flight to Los Angeles is over. We did cross the International Date Line so it is still the 5th March and 2pm. We are now in a transfer lounge and cannot go into the airport to shop, eat or look around. That is a bit of a con because you have to pay your visa fee to the US Government to just sit in a glass box, only 20 metres away from our aircraft which is being refuelled. Anyway, we are here till 4pm when we get back on the ...
