      ... It is an amazing sight to stand at the top and look out and see miles and miles. of wide open country... I swear you can see all the way to Colorado, Texas and Kansas!

      It is well worth the stop and nice to be able to get off the road and hike up to the top of the volcano rim and down inside.

      This trip has been full of interesting places and this is right up there!!

      We head back to the cars and back onto the road .... ...

      ... with a book on endangered tigers. A quick bike ride outrunning a storm to Aunt Mary's with Reese and Sydney followed by Samuel and Joey in the trailer. Dinner and watching the Braves whoop the Phillies after last night's poor performance.

      Thursday.

      ... where we would hike up to a base on Wednesday night, camp out and go for the summits of Mt. Belford and Mt. Oxford on Thursday morning.

      The trip started strong with perfect mid-50s weather for the hike on Wednesday up to the top of treeline, where we would make base camp. It was a surprisingly steep ascent but in a little over 2 hours we were up to 11,000+ Ct from our 9000ft starting point. Running out of daylight ...
