11/29 was travel from Ft Myers day...well half day really leaving Ft M at 3p and arriving in Calif local time 9pm. Retrieved from airport by Wayne and his mom Kathy (who will be traveling with me)..an "exciting" ride home with me riding shotgun and holding on tight! ... 139 boats signed up. We are number 71. The Baja HaHa fleet will leave in late October to avoid the summer cyclone season. The rally is sailed in three legs with stops and functions at the end of each leg. The advantage of going in a group is to meet like minded folks, to share advice, lend a helping hand, share weather info, etc. This rally is something we have read about for years and we're really looking forward to the adventure!
... 11:30 PM a little dusky but still light (and of course the view from our outhouse was pretty outstanding) - we decided to sleep in and hang around camp our last day - needed some down time to pack and get ready for our 6:30 departure the next morning. I needn’t of worried at all! They are family after all, and what a great lovely family they are! Helen and I were welcomed with hugs and kisses, and wine and food all on arrival!
Penny and Tony live in a beauitiful bungalow in Livermore where it is considerably warmer and less windy then San Francisco! Which was blissful! And we had our own room, with double beds and cosy douvets! Helen was leaving the next day! ...
