Great stay! Clean, comfortable rooms. Energy-Saver settings: put key card into slot and it cools to your specifications; take your key card when you leave and it goes into energy-saver mode during your absence - not off, so it quickly returns to your settings upon your return. Large, comfortable breakfast room. Hot breakfast included: omelettes, pork and turkey sausages, waffles, pancakes, bagels, toast, cinnamon rolls, muffins, cereal, etc. (very nice!) We used the laundry facilities down the hall from our room to catch up on our laundry needs for the trip. The washer and dryer were clean and in great working order. Definitely quieter than staying in a casino (Sunset Station Casino is a short walk away) and cheaper than staying downtown.

AM: mom called to schedule helicopter ride into Grand canyon and found out that it only flies out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Mom and Dad both agreed to change plans and head to Las Vegas! Mom booked the helicopter flight for Sunday then started working on a hotel. She settled on a Holiday Inn Express in nearby Henderson and we packed up and hit the road …

... above the dam. Since they pass all vehicles through security when you enter the area, they still let you drive your car or motorcycle on the road above the dam. There were many motorcycles that passed by while we were there. It wasn't such a big deal for me, so we didn't bother dragging the bike down to the top of the dam and settled for walking across.
After we finished with the top of the dam, we headed over to the old visitors center where ...

Our morning routine was all systems go nice and early as we new the drive was going to be a bigger one, we had two options in crossing over to the east side of the hills, one involved Death Valley and longer haul or the other was going more direct and having a look at the oldest living things on earth? We made the call to go with the shorter trip. The Ancient Bristlecone forest is about 1.5 hrs from the hot springs and bout ...

... all the safety on the chopper and then waited around for ages in the lobby. All of our tour group had gone and it was just us there. We thought maybe they forgot us so we went up to the counter and asked what the hell was going on. And then they were like oh your still here. Your helicopter will be here in 5 mins. Then it was amazing. We went up with just the two of us in the helicopter. I can not even begin to describe what this experience was like. It was like nothing I have ...
