    What a difference between the morning and the afternoon. The 22 miles from Salida to the top of Monarch Pass qualify as the hardest pedaling I have done. The last 10 miles I was in granny. I would go a half mile stop drink some water and start again. I averaged 5.2 mph over the 22 miles. Brutal! If one of you came by while I was climbing I might have come home.
