... the mountain. Eventually weaving through an area with a lot more vegetation, slightly jungle-like but without the heat. We took our packs off for a bit in order to get a little squirrly on a a mini boulder problem. It was slightly sketchy especially in hiking boots but it was so nice to touch real rock again...:)
Our next pit stop was along the trail when Bryan heard rustling in a bush. He declared it a bear (more likely a squirrel) ...
So I thought I would begin a blog... I'm not sure why, considering I'm not much of a writer or photographer but I thought it might be a way to let you all know what's going on in my life. I plan to create a hand-written travel journal, so this will probably just include pictures from my adventures and short blurbs although we'll have to see what happens :)
Greenville is more of less the capital of South Carolina Upcountry, the part of state nearest mountains. It’s always impressed me as especially straight-laced and conservative area, although Anne tells me significant streak of more modern thinking does exist in some in-town neighborhoods. Greenville reminds me of NOVA in that it is a more developed area and a very similar culture. There is also some kick butt climbing and backpacking nearby which I will be experiencing here shortly.
Ryan and Jordan are now engaged and they are getting married in October! At a beautiful area in Lake Lure not too far from Greenville. I can't wait! I wish them a long and happy life together <3
... then re-check it into CLT, but the "new" American/USAirways could care less, so why should we, right? It's 10 minutes past boarding time and security is very tight. Boarding has now started. We've never seen such tight security. It appears to be isolated to our particular flight or perhaps USAirways/American, as there are several other flights to the US in our "secured area". The area surrounding our gate is roped off with airport and security personnel not allowing ...
