        ... just crashed for about two hours. I think we may have ordered a pizza. When we were at Wall Drug I found myself staring at the Western paintings on the walls in the cafeteria. The quality of some of the paintings took me by surprise. I took a photo of one before I saw the sign asking for no photographs.         ... of different shades of marble. The four wings have high arches over the outer part that have windows that let in the light. There are four mosaics: Government, Legislation, Justice, and Liberty. The dome was spectacular. We saw the Congressional Chamber and the Senate. We were still looking around when they announced that it was closing. We may go back for a formal tour if we are up in time. We have to be in Chippewa Falls, Leinenkugel tour at 2:00. ...

        Nick and I just spent the last 3 days in Wisconsin spending time with some more of Nick's family. I was able to meet a lot of family I hadn't met before and it was nice for Nick to spend time with family he doesn't get to see very often.

        743 miles down. 4000 miles to go. Short stop in Madison. Drove through University of Wisconsin's sprawling campus and Greek Row. Did you know that many of the fraternity/sorority houses have a dock on Lake Mendota? It's here that we saw the most disturbing site of the trip, an overweight middle aged man driving a motorcycle in nothing but a cape and a flesh-toned Speedo. Verrrry gross! Sorry, no picture.
