    ... Apparently there are cabins out on Deal Island that you can reach by boat.
    We had the best lunch on the eastern shore at the Island House restaurant. Crab bisque, and beer battered cod were outstanding and the view out over the marshes was lovely. After lunch we walked around the marina and strolled the quiet streets of town with charming houses with small yards, looking for signs of spring. The coast guard and virginia institute of marine science have locations here.

    ... Plantation Flats Lighthouse on the internet that was a few miles south and out in the Bay. So,we take Molly drive off in search of this lighthouse. We drove back roads, and even a trail out to the shoreline trying to find it, but to no avail. We guess it was too far off the shore to be seen.

    ... southern tip of the Cape on the Atlantic side in search of the Cape Charles Lighthouse on Smith Island. After taking some back roads and dirt farm roads, we got as close as we could without being in a boat.

    It is amazing how much energy one small boy named Ryan can have. This morning it was straight to rigging and sailing. The wind was blowing steady and Ryan has really mastered the tiller, tacking around the triangle course. The opti race team came and did an on water demonstration of all the points of sail.
