    Very Gopd Road Trip Hotel

As Mary says there are positives and negatives to everything. We have stayed at enough Holiday Inns on this trip that we have achieved Gold status. Today we were upgraded to a King Suite for the night. The negative, it was next to the ice machine. All in all this is a nice road trip hotel that I would stay in again. It kind of compensates for spending the night in Evanston WY.

... time, it was 24 degrees with light snow flurries the night before. We traveled south on Wyoming 28, (the South Pass Highway), which crosses over South Pass (Elevation 7,550 feet), This is also where the Oregon Trail passed over the Continental Divide. Luckily for us, most of the road was dry and clear as the sun came out and brought the temperature up above freezing. ...

I was surprised to see the Speed Limit most of the way in Wyoming was 80...haven't seen a sign for 80 in years, if ever.

... here we are going through Coalville and it is a total contrast. Still mountains skirt the town but there is a gorgeous stream weaving its way through. There is heaps of greenery and the houses are huge. Lovely little town. Coming into Salt Lake City now, it's 7:30pm. I can see why the Winter Olympics was held here, it's so pretty. The mountains are gently undulating. Blending into each other. I thought Utah was a desert, clearly I was ...

    Celebrating 4 Wonderful Years!

... All for a usual steak price ($20-$25 each). All of the food was pretty good, nothing too extravagant, but good. The portions were huge... 16 oz for both steaks! And we didn't get charged for drinks (decent beer for Grant, a "meh" glass of wine for Bonnie). While we certainly have no reason to want to comeback to Evanston, WY, it was a great layover and provided us with a relaxing ...

We realized yesterday that after 10 nights in a tent on an air mattress (and 2 nights on a dorm mattress before that), that we were more than ready for a hotel! We decided to leave Grand Teton a day early from our original plan and head south towards Colorado. We got up early for Grant to take some sunrise pictures of the mountains, then broke camp and went to Fossil Butte National Monument. Fossil Butte has some of the world's best ...
