The bike I hired from the hostel was a badass gold one that was so old school it had back pedal brakes. Eugene is completely flat, thus perfect for our biking needs. ... a scientist, Keith Baar, originally from Canada but not doing research in the US. He was telling us about the latest advances in sports science and new knowledge about the way the tendons etc work. Fascinating. We were also joined by a former US team doctor. Interesting conversations.
We said our goodbyes to Matt and then had a pleasant walk back to the car. It has been a wonderful competition with many new names to watch for in the future. A great event!
... lovely creek) and then spent some time with Shelia over coffee. She is the sweetest person in the world and wouldn't let me leave the house empty-handed, so I left with a bag full of fruit, snacks, wine and vitamin water! Another difficult goodbye (but it's just 'see ya later')
And then I was on the road again... a few showers and then sun all the way down to my Air B&B in Ashland!

I thanked the internet guru guy for his help and headed out the door. HUMPH! They have a little work to do to become more customer friendly, by golly. Anyway, the rest of the afternoon proved to be very relaxing. Our new site in much nicer than the old site as it offers a ton of shade and plenty of room to stretch out.
