      Instead of going to Rocky Mountain National Park from the West, we detoured to Denver because Simba needed to have a short R&R. Actually, the check engine light had come on and, when it was tested, we learned that the turbo boost system needed to be replaced. Not an easy or inexpensive fix, but fortunately, we have an extended warranty to cover such events.

    • The highlight of this day was when a Giraffe leaned over and licked Mo's face. Half of her make up left her and I couldn't help but laugh that half her face was missing. She spent hours in the bathroom cleaning her face and reapplying makeup.


    • By the end of the day we found a empty parking lot and decided just to crash there. In the morning we shall be hitting our last state.

      ... neither was the fact that other people were jumping the line and catching the cabs further up the road before they got to us.. Thankfully we eventually got a cab before hypothermia set in. We shared it with several others but really didn't care by that stage. In terms of making our way home from sporting venues, we have officially struck out on this trip.
