... her grandparents in Detroit. It's strange to think of my grandparents as children running up the stairs and playing in the yards of the homes we saw. Every house has a history, and there is so much of my family history here on the streets of Detroit.

One memory that Mom shared was of her ritual of getting to Grandma Ward's, and as soon as her mom left, going through all of the drawers and seeing that everything was exactly as it had been when she left.
