    ... at idle, during the trip I could not let it idle for extended periods or it might/would get hot. Luckily, I have a pressurized cooling system so the issue did not create a problem of boiling the coolant. Normal idle temps are 180 (165 degree stat) but with the retarded timing I often reached close to 210.
    The cast iron speed head I have installed is often blamed for pre-ignition problems by its critics. I do not know yet ...
