        Up early to check out hotel and go to the Michigan Stadium (the big house) to celebrate 2016 graduation. The stadium is gigantic, the biggest in America and second biggest in the world.         We arrived at the Detroit Airport at about 6:30 pm, got checked in, and they gave me a hard time about getting my boarding pass for the Paris to Lyon leg. However our tour director made a little noise and secured it for me. The taxi picked us up right on time and delivered us to the slots in Clinton where are bus was waiting for us.         ... the ensuing race and returned to comment on the affair to me: "I saw how you could whip that thing around--that is a really cool RV!"

        He leaves and I proceed to top off the RV. Another gentleman emerges from the store at the gas station and stops in his tracks: "That is a really cool looking RV. I've got that trailer over there and my next one will be something like this..."

Lonely Planet is absolutely right in saying that Americans will greet news that you're heading to Detroit with a raised eyebrow and some crack about drugs and/or death, though the guidebook is at pains to point out that many exciting things are happening.
