After a nights sleep at Loews Hotel (very nice) water views, swimming pool and lovely walking along the beach, we had a lovely day.
The walk along Venice Beach (muscle beach) not a lot of muscle to see, but colorful people, lots of tattoos, bike riding, roller blading, begging, homeless people, a must to see.
The Santa Monica end more clean …
... The fish and chips were from the same place as where we stopped yesterday. So delicious! The burgers with avocado were fantastic.
After dropping off the bikes, we walked - actually climbed up Hyde St, deciding that the queue for the cable car was just too long. The cable cars are so popular and iconic to SF, but at $6 per person the appeal for Melbournians, so used to trams, was not as strong. Plus by walking ...
... a tunnel under the Bay ? got off the BART at the Montgomery station in San Francisco and there was a Peet's coffee kiosk there.
We got some delicious coffee and enjoyed the musicians playing for our enjoyment.
Emerged from the station into the sunlight and after one false start found the bus stop to get us over to Bike and View where we were going to rent bicycles to cross the Golden Gate Bridge.

... Drag Queens everywhere and not a single bar or Laundromat for that matter that didn't have a gay-uendo in the title (Moby *****, Sit 'n' Spin). The only demographic less subtle than the gays in SF was the homeless people. A great stay, close to Hollywood, a short 2 blocks. Staff at front desk outstanding and very helpful
