... Falls, we passed the huge Dallas Speedway/NASCAR track, which seats 190,000 and is one of the biggest around. The area north of Dallas is in severe drought and the drive was very uninteresting and pretty boring - we pushed on until 5.30ish and decided to find a motel in Vernon. This morning we all had breakfast with Uncle Jerry and Aunt Katherine at Denny's. It was hard for me to say goodbye. We left Kilgore around 10:30 and began to make our way across Texas. The Dallas/Ft Worth area wasn't bad at all to drive thru on a Sunday. All I have to say about Texas is DANG is it hot!!! We pulled in to Vernon today ...
