Today was a long riding day, which I love but too much of it was on 4 lane highways. I much prefer 2 lane back roads.
Oklahoma has kept much of the old Route 66 but has expanded lots of it into four lane, especially through the towns' access roads. But more than half was great riding. I travelled through Tulsa but the Gilcrease Museum; with its history of Western culture was closed. I will have to remember that many public institutions are closed on Mondays. ...

Broken Arrow to Weatherford - 284 miles Another day of poor road signing! We back tracked to Catoosa and found the lue whale easily enough. It was a long detour owing to a series of one way roads, but we both felt it was worth the effort.
