        ... I even saw a Sequoia tree which seemed outta place. Close to the summit, I think there were Bristlecone Pine. Whatever be, the trail stayed pretty high today along the Angeles Crest. I made it to mile 384 today, Jimmy Springs Campground, where there is a flowing spring and where about 30 other PCT hikers made camp. We even made a fire tonight.         ... light (and therefore NOT 'just up the road') was the Mountain Top Cafe sitting on a pass of its own. Inside there was a lovely 'ski lodge' type atmosphere with friendly staff, very cold beer and large portions of very reasonable dinner.

        Back at the motel, Harry spent an hour and a half in the jacuzzi and swimming pool until well past the sunset, while I typed-up the you-know-what. We had made it to here by 6pm and would have a good rest before an early start ...

        ... high winds are reported. Tomorrow will be the final drive into L.A. The vehicle will be parked in front of Heather & Michael’s home until they take off – together on his maiden voyage to Yucca Valley this weekend.
