September 24th – day 143

Today we drove from Leesburg Florida to
Greensboro Florida, about an hour and a half from the Alabama
border. We stopped for supplies at Walmart and our twenty minute stop
turned into an hour when our prepaid card got messed up and it
wouldn't pay for the items. The customer services people said the
message was “customer cancelled card” so of course we are
thinking ...

The State is quite narrow at this point and only a few minutes after we crossed the Semmes VOR we arrived in Mississippi and turned for Gulfport and the coast. Turns out this was a project in the wake of Katrina. I encourage you to take a look--some of these statues are quite beautiful, and I think this is a lovely way to help clean up the mess.
