... Davis passed, the home was given to the State of Mississippi by his widow under the terms that it be used as a veterans home for Confederate soldiers and their wives/widows. The property also contains a Confederate Soldier's Cemetery and the Tomb of the Unknown Confederate Soldier.

We leave for Alabama and Florida in the morning. We are hoping for warmer weather in the Sunshine State. Cheers and stay ...

January 5th we drove from Destin Florida to New Orleans, Louisiana, only 261 miles (417km) but it took us through 4 States in 1 day!! Starting in Florida we drive through Mobile, Alabama; Gulfport Mississippi; & finally to Kenner, New Orleans, Lousianna.
