... the windiest on the coast'; you could add rainiest too. We stopped for a breather at the Devil's Churn and were hopeful we might miss the storms. As it was low tide, there wasn't much churn going on. About 10 mins later we were sheltering under a hedge near Strawberry Hill, where our hopes of seeing the seals were dashed. We must have spent an hour hunkered under there before the ...

Water temp. 59. The athletes have to swim two laps. They start in the water next to the dock and swim around the markers, up the side of the ramp, around the dock and back into the lake to swim the course one more time.

As we traveled this familiar territory, Harlan and I reminisced about our years here in Oregon, including the fun times at the beach remembering how cold and windy it is even in summer, the mist that falls most of the time and ...

... cold bevies and started climbing the dunes looking for the best hill to board down. These things could really use a chair lift up them! Hiking uphill in sand is hard work!! Talk about a leg workout! Ryan was a bit more excited than me for this sand boarding adventure, well I was excited too but just a little nervous about my knee. I gave it a go a couple times and felt like a beginner snowboarder on the bunny hill, gave Ryan a couple good laughs! But ...
