We checked out of our Venice Beach hostel and decided to take a drive down Venice Beach Boulevard to the long awaited and anticipated Venice Beach. We were deciding whether we should walk from here to Santa Monica pier or whether hiring bikes and riding this route would be better. In the end we decided to do the walk part of the way and then drive by car to Santa Monica Pier...this would probably be classed as the American way! They seem to drive just around the block instead of walking! So -...

Anaheim, California, United States adamsprinces... still no ears. After ticking off so much of the park across the first two days, there were only a few bits that needed some serious attention for day 3. First up, was supposed to be the Tiki Room. But for reasons we can't really remember, it turned out to be about the only thing in the whole park that we did not get to. Instead, we started off with the Jungle Cruise. And although the weather was much improved, we were still blessed with the ...
Anaheim, California, United States cdcass... Body" like a playboy model, I decided to gie the bar of soap a go, it just looked like too much fun. It was a great bar of soap I might add. I'm pretty sure I am going to steal the next two bars of it before I leave. Muah ha ha ha I'm tearing this place to pieces when I wake up! That will leave the perfect impression when I leave the country.
Anaheim, California, United States snake0721... normally get in granola. So there's my hot tip of the day: Don't order granola at the St. Regis. Then it was time for me to go to the spa. Woot! I had the Coastal Trio, which consisted of a eucalyptus salt scrub (takes off 2 layers of dead skin cells), then a Dead Sea Mud wrap (gets out the toxins), then a moisturizer is massaged in to rehydrate the skin. It was heavenly ...
Dana Point, California, United States kitkatgoOn the plane to LAX I got to sit by the emergency exit. Man, I think that is where I will request every seat from now on. The leg room is ridiculous. LOVE IT. I was sitting next to your typical California blonde for the flight. We chatted for a little bit. The Flight Attendant came over to make sure I was okay with my potential emergency exit duties and to go over the emergency ...
Los Angeles, California, United States athena... by, leaping out of the water and playing in the wake, juveniles with their mommies -- dolphins everywhere -- and, the whole time, the microphones were in the water, and we could hear them calling to each other. It was marvelous! After, we received a tour of the ocean institute -- fascinating. My favorite story was of the octopus that squeezed out of a tiny whole in its ...
Dana Point, California, United States ahartry... camp for our LA expedition. It was such a fun time there - we went on a tour to see movie stars homes - you can't believe it until you see them!, went to two TV tapings (a new sitcom starting in Dec. called 4 Kings, and That 70's Show- I won a copy of the script and met all the stars who autographed it). You are there for about 4-5 hrs. but are being entertained the whole time. Went on a tour of the Kodak Theatre (where the Academy ...
Dana Point, California, United States barryandgayle... and loads of trees) and spent some time on the white sand beach. We had a nice Mexican lunch with some birdy beggars before heading out to see Carmel Mission. It's a famous Christian mission & school and was the main base for Father Junipera Serra who did a lot of converting here and is now a Saint. The recently deceased Pope bestowed the title of Minor Basillica upon this restored complex and they have quite a nice shrine to him here. We headed back into town and completed ...
Los Angeles, California, United States skcoll... regime! Nancy and I sorted out a hostel room for the night (Jon was again completely oblivious to this, even as were leaving their apartment!) in Venice. A very odd place full of weirdos, some of whom had been there for over a year and most of whom were wannabe actors. They were all very friendly and talkative, just slightly deranged! The dorm we stayed in was by far the biggest yet - 30 bunk beds all squeezed very tightly together, in a very dark, dank room. The funniest guy we met ...
