    We left New Orleans. this morning and are on our way to Alabama to visit old yachting friends that we had not seen in more than 10 years. They live close to the Tennessee border and as the distance was more then 800 km we did it over two days and arrived at Richard and Mary's place just after lunch on Saturday.     ... fruits and vegetables. They also have a little cafe where you can buy a sandwich if you like, or one of my favorite treats, peach ice cream!

    We've breezed right through Montgomery, Alabama's state capital, and we are well on our way to Birmingham, Alabama, where I went to law school. I will have to keep close track of our miles so we don't miss the barbecue and the Vulcan statue there!
