Day 2: its Dora day today (exploring). We walk to the nearest train station (about 8 mins away from the house) - California. Its on the blue line and we need to head to the brown line to Quincy. We want to do the Loop walk today - its a walk around the city to look at all the cool architecture. Buying the ticket was ok (despite the "friendly" assistant's help) but trying to navigate ...
... in the center of Grant Park where we ate our lunch on a bench in the sunshine. The Buckingham Fountain is pretty darn big so it was no surprise to find out later that it is one of the largest in the world. The fountain does regular water shows and light shows in the evening - I would have liked to have seen that!
There were a lot of students in their graduation cap and gowns - obviously a popular spot for their photos!
Next stop was a short walk ...
... huge city..loads of buildings. We were heading to china town..we have rented a townhouse. 3 storey, 4 bedrooms ..3 bathrooms and a garage. We were exhausted when we got there. Al and I drew short straw ..other two got bedroom and en suites ....we got small bedroom but still a separate bathroom in hallway. We got pizza from down the road ..had a few drinks and watched a movie on tv. The pizza was very expensive..paid for pizza plus ...
