... to Alaska. Today's 50 Winnebago motor homes of three sizes will leave starting at about 9:00 am. Each participant has 11 or up to 18 days of traveling the highway and byways of the US and Canada with the final destination being Anchorage AK.

... the beautiful sunset. After dinner we went for a walk along the shoreline and passed the harbor where we saw a Bayliner that appeared to be similar to our former boat. After a stroll along the marina and back to the motor homes we settled in. It was early to bed for all of us. Dave and I were very tired due to the high learning curve of driving such a large vehicle. It has been an adjustment...but an exciting adjustment at that!

Now to the Rockies

... were full except one another hour away with a pass of 12,000’. We found a private campground nearby instead for the night.

Early in the morning Dale and I got up and went to Glacier Basin, the one nearby campground that takes campers on a stand-by basis. We got to the campground by 7a.m. and got on the list and by 7:30 we had a site for the night. We assured the ranger that we were flexible we just wanted to stay for 3 nights.

... and prudence. We slowed to about fifteen miles an hour and had no problem. It really makes a guy think though. We rarely have flooding at home. Here it's a different story.

No matter how you may view Global Warming, there IS truly a climate change taking place. We've narrowly avoided tornadoes and floods and are thankful for it. We have our protector with us and it works, for us anyway.
