... me! I'm pretty excited about this trip, and have been wanting to go see my kids for quite some time, so this is an event worth waiting for.
I'll be updating my travel log here, and you can read where I'm at, where I've been and what i've been up to.
Here's to a wonderful adventure!
I was so excited when my parents and I "discovered" the Sandcastle Motel in Lincoln City a few years ago. Since then we have gone down at least twice a year and had great experiences in the kitchenettes that are very reasonably priced (but without a balcony). Just returned this year and was very disappointed this stay. We were in a two queen room ...
Meridian, Idaho, United States smilnlady... accessibility on cruises from some of our friends in The Handicapped Travel Club. I am sure we will have comments one way or the other.
... surprise Jenna. And that is exactly what I did. We had it all set up to arrive in Boise at 4:30. Mark told Jenna to stay around the house since he was expecting a package from UPS to arrive. But we didn’t anticipate driving through a new time zone, so we actually arrived around 5:30. Mark was already home and we knocked on the door Mark let us in and showed me to the bathroom where she was doing her hair. I walked behind her and said ...
Boise, Idaho, United States flyingfonteins... have not had a problem finding a spot. All the places we stayed (other than Custer State Park) have been Good Sam Campgrounds.
Talk about a range of interstates and speed limits we have seen them. Going through Illinois we had to run 55 along with the trucks and believe me they ran 55 and in Idaho it is 75. In Washington parts of the interstate had ruts in the road in the right lane and EVERY state had road construction going ...
A beautiful setting for a beautiful wedding.... Sharon Dew, youngest & wildest of the Dew clan, is finally tying the knot & saying I do. It was great to see family, and it's never enough time. If Greg doesn't get on it, this might have to suffice as a mini-family reunion...
Not too long ago, our friend Becky Mudd Bell, invited us to drop in at Warm Lake Lodge (in Idaho) for her 40th birthday party and the Mudd family reunion. We said we'd love to join her in the celebration particularly since we were leaving for Alaska on July 1st. You may have figured out that we took the 'East to go North’ direction. When we learned of Becky’s great celebration, we decided to add the "World Famous" Porcupine Races ...

McCall, Idaho, United States andrewandjacque... River, very wide behind a dam. Along the river we hit a torrential downpour, so even though the road straightened out, we still had to move slowly. After more winding roads, ranchlands and shrouded mountain vistas, we arrived in McCall, a nice mountain town on Payette Lake, becoming more upscale all the time. Lots of summer homes and a few private clubs. The setting is beautiful and the few people we met seemed very welcoming. We stayed at the Ponderosa ...
McCall, Idaho, United States jeffanddeb... landscapes in the desert, in the mountains, in the boonies, in the city, in a farm, in the country and it's not the reason why I appreciate nature. I just DO. And one of them is definitely IDAHO. There's so much to see in this world. I'm so LUCKY to have seen what I've seen, met the people that I've met and experienced what I've experienced. I feel richer than I already felt 10 days ago. For that I'm eternally grateful to the Kelloggs! Anyway, back to ...
