Gatlinburg Vacation Day 1 We started off around 10:00 am for Jackson to get Kaleb. After picking him up we headed south for either Tennessee or somewhere close. 3:30 pm - Finally reached Tennessee! We had another hour long, slow-moving delay near Corbin, Kentucky. I'd driven 80 miles and the breeze is really stiff. We decided to take a stretch break at the Tennessee Welcome Station.

Woke up this morning to 22 degrees and clear. Yesterday it snowed on and off all day although it never did stick to the ground. Now we have officially reached the coldest weather we will probably see on our trip. Love our down comforters.

... dancing and climbing trees for a full 24 hours. The fact that this was voted everyone’s favourite day says a lot about the close connection of good friends, children to be able to connect with others so easily and the simplicity of a home cooked meal together with some old fashioned ball in the park. Not a piece of electronic equipment in sight nor asked for for the whole day.

... one of the resident black bears we climbed higher and higher along this somewhat tricky trail. We reached the main waterfall which made the journey worthwhile before we started the well earned descent.
