... Ale, an American PA, very autumn in nature. Their Amber was very nice, with a hint of caramel. I'd like to take these two beers to the porch on a crisp cool day. The Tiger Bite IPA was super hoppy, not my favorite characteristic, but lacked the bitterness I expect with IPAs. Not terrible. :)

... over 4,000 feet today the landscape was rolling and I think we will be having a lot more of that to come. The weather cooperated with a quartering tail wind and rode solo. It was neat traveling through the small towns and looking at the holiday decorations and at the second SAG today it looked like the entire town was out on the village lawn having a picinic!

... Earhardt! Sherry and Joe then took us back to their lovely home to enjoy a relaxing evening barbecue - what a great break from the rigors of travel! It was neat for me to be able to meet them, as Greg has so many fond memories of them both! They are also RV'ers, with a beautiful new fifth wheel parked next to their home, so we're planning to meet up again somewhere down the road! I know we're both looking forward to it!

... for things to see in this area which wasn't very much until you get to Kansas City. So here we are in another Motel 6 but without internet. Somehow someone or something flipped the switch off and the night clerk doesn't know how to reset it. So the blog and photos will be a little late. Sorry. Dang internet. We left Mount Vernon Illinois this morning and found the Old Route 66 Bridge going from Illinois to Missouri.  As you can see Bill wasn't sure which way to go he was between states. I left Colorado Springs today, heading east bound on I-70 to Topeka, Kansas. On my way out I took route 24 right by the Springs airport... ... Did I mention that Linda Vaughn (Miss Hurst Shifter) was in the GM Performance booth the past two days? Looks like she went home today. Right now there's a bunch of people sitting along the major roadway outside the hotel with a sign that says "smoke em if you got em" Dave's filming, but there's not too much to see - yet. OK. Almost 10pm and our flight leaves in 13.5 hours and finally almost everything is done so I can start packing. There's always so much to do at work and at home to get ready to be gone for 2.5 weeks. But why should I complain?! We're going to Italy!
