... snuck it to him out of his pocket). The white powder was suger :) My last drink was a yummy one with little fruity bits in it. We had been there over an hour and gave up on the monster attack I had read about online. I heard that at some point the lights go out and monsters invade, it sounded like fun. We ordered dessert and waited forever for it, we were surprised by that because the food had come out so quickly. Suddenly (after 4 drinks each) the ...
Bothell, Washington, United States strawberilolita... such a rock slide only a week and a half earlier. The day ended well - a very enjoyable dinner with some of Tracy's relatives and the opportunity to meet one of the newest members of the Barnes clan, one year old Liam. What a great little guy and very cute (can I say that and still maintain my manliness?). Even though they came to our place, they didn't call us trailer trash once, and they were quite okay with me pinching their beverages. And ...
Redmond, Washington, United States elopfamily... will be many years to come. Hell we navigated the Eastern Sahara, trekked through Hezbollah territory and were detained at the Syrian border. It's been quite a ride and by the end of the trip all I wanted to do was stay longer. The area deserved more time and I wish I could have given it that.
The Middle East is something special. I feel incredibly proud and lucky to have gotten the chance to see it for myself.

Seattle, United States alanfMay 19, 2006 Chuckanut Mountain and Lummi Island Bellingham, Washington Mile (about) 1125 The Sunday Oregonian had an article on Lummi Island, just a short drive and a (much) shorter ferry ride from Bellingham. With the intention of doing a bit of island exploring and then hitting Bellingham to check out the street scene, all long before the late evening Norton Buffalo Concert (and Dancin') at the Wild Buffalo, we headed out to ...
Bellingham and Lummi Island, Washington, United States jeffanddeb... They have a book at home which fleshed some of that out. We continued to drive along Puget Sound to Golden Gardens (too early for the best sunset views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains) and after a brief stop at a Scandinavian store to pick up dessert for dinner (Verdens Beste) we headed for a favorite coffee shop, Diva Espresso. Biscotti and much better coffee than Starbucks revived us. I happened to mention that I had never had a Krispy Kreme donut. It was ...

Back to the travels: We stopped for lunch on the Oregon coast in Aberdeen, a logging town that was home to both John Elway and more importantly Kurt Cobain. We soaked up the grunge vibes at the local Taco Bell, a mistake we will not repeat for numerous reasons. Zoe and I arrived in Olympic National Park from the south and headed to the Hoh Rain Forest, the wettest spot in the United States. It averages between 140-180 ...

Bear to the right several hundred yards and this will take you gently down into the creek. Walk down the creek, which leads to the Escalante River. Ford the river at this point, look for a path in the dense brush and go up to the base of a cliff where you will see the first of many cairns that will lead you to Stephens Arch. A day hike but leave the motel at 8 am to have enough time to do this. Due to a lot ...
