We has an amazing backpack into Redwood Mountain Grove on the north side of the Sequoia national park. The goal was just a single night. We started on the trailhead about 3 pm and it was quite steep and rough with full packs, but the GIANT trees more than made up for it! We started up the park road and ended up parked for the better part of an hour because of park road-building. It was frustrating but neat watching them building the road up on such a steep slope. Once passed that, we made our way to the giant Sequoia's. We took a shuttle to the General Sherman tree ...
