... east back to Alexandria. Because it was hot it probably was not the right choice - but another lesson learned.

Pulled into the Best Western Alexandria - had a very welcome shower and researched places to eat. Ate and drank at Spirits and had a great conversation with the barman John and the gentleman sitting next to me who was also John.

Left the bike at Spirits - 30 min walk back in the morning to pick it up.

The building shook with the thunder for 15-30 minutes. We were finally able to get back on the road by 6:03 ...

... easy...finding accommodation which had a vacancy however...not so easy. We found about 20 or so motels/hotels but all were fully booked due to some sporting event in the city. Bloody sport. We finally found a space at America's best value inn, rooms for $40...unless they realise everywhere else is booked up, then it's rooms for $69!

One week from today I will walk out of the office, start running around like crazy because I just remembered things I still need to get done and then start packing. Saturday I'll check and recheck my list of things I want to make sure I, phone charger, tablet, plenty of underwear, sunscreen, sunglasses.....then feel horrible because it will be time to drop Cartman off for boarding.
