    ... first tour to myself with a very good guide, but he was very evasive on my questions about the restoration work schedule and whether I’d be likely to see a fully restored site a la Monticello within my natural lifetime.     Stayed in a 6 bedroom "cabin" in Blue Ridge Mountains close to Bedford, VA and Peaks of Otter.

    As Jeanne said "The good times just keep getting better. And, Karen, thanks for coordinating everything with the house. As much as we *****ed about it, it really hit all the high points--plenty of rooms and bathrooms, a nice dining space, great views, and a hot tub and company that goes unmatched."

    ... Trail and in another half-mile or so, it crosses Cornelius Creek Trail. Shortly after the second intersection, the trail crosses the creek and there was a small scenic cascade over some rocks. This small 19th century building was an Inn that provided “ordinary” amenities to weary travelers. Then we continued down the road past the picnic area and picked up the Flat Top Trail.
