Gettin' to the Airport on Time

... did those many years ago (well, maybe a couple of pounds heavier!). So now I'm sitting here at the President's club relaxing as much as one can with a group of New Yokas having a screaming conversation a few feet away.

Not traveling business class so I'll miss the pampering and good food. Hope I can get a few hours of sleep so as to be ready to hit the ground running upon arrival. We shall see.

Wrong turn.... Right turn...

... Remember my sick horse? Yeah, I didn't either. So by the time I got well enough to get it to Toyota, I was already there days longer then planned. Remember Bugs' wrong turn? My car was so sick it took an extra 5 days and over $4000 to fix! Are you kidding me?!! And it gets better. During this period, I had talked to my parents and we were all anxiously awaiting test results about my mom. And Tami and I had a fight ...

On the road again

... Unfortunately we were 3 days too late. The majority of the birds, thousands, had already taken off. There were a few still there and the sunrise was beautiful.
We then drove southwest to Silver City for a few days of exploring.

Albuquerque, VLA, mountains and balloons

... you have to ascend a series of 3 rickety wooden ladders and squeeze along a narrow cliff path. Once up there, some 25 stories up above the valley floor, you have an amazing view and, if your thirst for adventure has not yet been quenched, you can also climb down a short ladder into a dark pit room, used as a sort of communal meeting room and weaving workshop - or something like that. Anyway, by the time you have had to make your way back down the ...

Taking stock...one year on

... other of us seriously considered leaving the other and going home! But all in all it must have been good or we wouldn't have come back for more. This time around we are not so green, a bit more relaxed and probably a bit more patient with each other. There is so much still to see, so many new places to visit, who knows how many 'legs' there will be. One thing we are sure ...

We're missing Chris and off to Explore! some more!

... Then, the boys moved over to the Lego Robotics lab where you program this rover to pick up magnetic sample rocks and launch the scientist safely back to earth before the meteor hits Mars(see pics). So much fun and educational, they did the lab two times! We ended our time there with a NASA Ambassador speaking on "Journey to Jupiter." Tonight the boys played games and on the playground with their three friends from Alaska while I ran to ...

... age, not my age. That almost never happens now, and I don’t see it happening amongst my younger peers either, except for cross-sex hook-ups. I came back and visited again a few years later and found out that she’d been killed in a car wreck, right about the time there was a song of the same name all over the radio. Life’s weird.
