Holiday Inn Express Albuquerque

... did those many years ago (well, maybe a couple of pounds heavier!). So now I'm sitting here at the President's club relaxing as much as one can with a group of New Yokas having a screaming conversation a few feet away.

Not traveling business class so I'll miss the pampering and good food. Hope I can get a few hours of sleep so as to be ready to hit the ground running upon arrival. We shall see.

... Now I was stopping to cool down. On my way out of Texas I passed through a small village called Adrian. If you look at the pictures I loaded today, you see two signs saying that it is the half way point of Route 66 which is a milestone in the ride to California. The scenery had changed to 'table top' mountains with bushes scattered all over. The grass was course and a golden colour. ... Unfortunately we were 3 days too late. The majority of the birds, thousands, had already taken off. There were a few still there and the sunrise was beautiful.
We then drove southwest to Silver City for a few days of exploring.

... a good band playing in the plaza square. There were several gift shops with the same Indian stuff we bought on the reservation for 5x as much. We had dinner at a Mexican place that neither one of us ended up liking. The kids were much happier with their Mcdonald's. The next morning, we were off to Sandia Peak Tramway. I was in Times square in NY taking photos about the crowd crossing the street then i went straight to the airport, get a flight to Albuquerque, there, i picked up a rental car and drove 8 hours to Monument Valley in Arizona, so, exactly 24 hours after time square i was standing in a desert, with for only company a lost dog...actually i appreciated the difference.

I get to the airport in Albuquerque at 4.30pm. my flight is at 6:30pm..I quickly hit the mens room
and eat 8 gelatin capsules of dried, powdered ( fine), peyote. within an hour of consumption
I'm through security and sitting with my laptop and the peyote kicks in."...Woah Mescalito !!!!
..please let me maintain and not have a major freakout here in the airport....just let me maintain and get me on the plane!!!!".....once on board it's smooth sailing...lol

... smiles on our faces, having forgotten about the terrible weather and how tired we were. On the way to Flagstaff that evening, Kristen accidentally reformatted her camera and somehow erased all her pictures from the trip. She was in tears because my camera had run out of batteries on the hike up the volcano so she took all the pictures there. =( It's okay though, we bought postcards! ... room were exceptional. Robin and Linda live in a very cool adobe house in the Rio Grande Valley. Aside from the restaurant business, they also run a large stable located on their property. Charmi, Doyle's sister, spends a lot of time helping out with the horses when she's not busy with her new job as a physician assistant at a local prison. By the way, she promised to sneak us out the back door if "The Man" decided to lock us up. We managed to stay out of trouble this time around ...
