... Whether it was lack of sleep, jet lag or pre adventure jitters but I made a series of silly errors in that hour....First. Going into the supermarket with my bar bag containing all my essentials left wide open on my bike. Camera and money on show. I realised a few minutes later and ran out to find a few people looking at my video camera strangely! After this event I proceeded to cycle off with my bike lock still attached to my rear wheel, which instantly broke my only lock ...

... of jellified blood. Lucy cut the blood into squares and offered it up to up everyone who all pounced eagerly. It had been seasoned with herbs and lemon, just the way I like my cubed blood. I couldn’t not try it. So, on an empty stomach, I let a sliver into my mouth and swallowed it as quickly as possible. I failed booking the 9am bus to Temuco so we had an extra hour and a half to walk around and try and fail to find something charming about Chillan.
On the bus the scenery kept getting greener as we kept going south. Again we got out at the center terminal which wasn't in the center of town and had no tourist information. We took a collectivo and asked to be dropped off at the center then asked for toursit information which was very, very closed then walked around randomly ...

Im not really cut out for it, and came out empty-handed, but Im sure some of you listeners at home could have really cleaned up. Heres a few shots of the city: look out for cool statue, erected to commemerate Chile reaching peace with the Mapuche natives after 200+ years of war, as well as bonus hotel room ...
