Holiday Inn Express Lake Tahoe

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express during March of 2004.

We found it to be a GREAT place to stay, especially if you're able to take advantage of off season rates, which we felt were very reasonable.

(I don't think we probably would have paid the higher seasonal rates, but not because it's not worth it...just because we couldn't afford it.)

I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in South Lake Tahoe.

Fantastic location, great continental breakfast buffet with excellent selection, and very short walk to the Heavenly Gondola and all the casinos! :) Can get very reasonable rates, especially 21 day pay in advance from their website. Rooms very nice and have small fridge, but note that one wing is not remodelled, still good but not as nice as the other beautiful brand new rooms.

My wife and I stayed at the HI Express for 5 nights during early March as a base for skiing in South Lake Tahoe. We found the hotel to be excellent value for money. Rooms are clean and spacious with coffee making facilities, microwave and fridge. Well located on the main street and only a few minutes walk from all the attractions. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations and gave us a good start to the day. Only downside is that the spa has no changing facilities, was a little grubby and is starting to look a bit dated.

I stayed in the Holiday Inn Express in July '03. The room itself was pretty average but the location is very good-- only a few blocks to the Casino area, plus if you didn't want to walk they had a shuttle that would take you over there. The continental breakfast was great, better than any I have had at other hotels. I would definitely stay there again.

I didn't know HI Expresses could be this comfortable. Someone loves this property a lot. The rates were just a bit higher than we expected but after stepping into our rooms we understood why this is one of the top Tahoe motels. Close to everything and a great coffee shop, Alpen Sierra, is right across the street. Carrows Diner is next door. We checked in late and the night staff was startlingly professional; a well-traveled writer moonlighting nights at a little motel in the mountains. Strict non-smoking policy for all the rooms. The whirlpool and spa were very nice. But the pool is closed during the winter.

Minutes from everything, easy to find. All roads lead to Tahoe's Holiday Inn.

We just got back from a trip to Tahoe. I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express, the value was excellent. The amenities were exactly what we needed,the breakfast was sufficient and everything, ncluding the gondola, was within walking distance. The room and bathroom was not overly large but clean and comfortable - what more do you need? As a side note, if you have any beginners catch the shuttle to the California lift at Heavenly, it is much easier for everyone since that is where the green slopes and ski school is located.

The first days of January I stayed with my family at the Holiday Inn expresss of Lake Tahoe. The hotel is very comfortable, walking distance to the gondola and the casinos. The breakfast is included, with warm cinnamon rolls and donuts. The rooms are nice with a large bathroom, they have a small fridge and microwave. But they cleaned our room at 4p.m. maybe because the hotel was full but the price and quality are great comparing with other hotels in the same zone.

I stayed two nights - the property was clean, beautifully landscaped and convenient to shopping, casino's, the lake, and several restaurants. My room was clean, well equipped with a small fridge and workspace and the staff was wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay here again.

I stayed a few nites and found the rooms clean and staff very helpful, the complimentary breakfast was standard but good and they kept it open beyond the 9.30am close time which is considerate. This holiday inn is very much better than others Ive stayed at.

The hotel location is near the heavenly gondala and marriot re-development and a few blocks from the casino. So for the price you cant go wrong but do watch the price becasue on the weekend we stayed the room rate doubled possibly due to a big show on at the casino nearby.

Very close to all the stores and restraunts and very nice rooms except you have to walk up creaky stairs to get to them.
