... the community was grateful. When we walked into the joint we felt like a posse accompanying a celebrity. Big hugs and "thank yous" and “anything for yous” swirled around Jon. It was lovely, and the big heart and character of the restaurant’s owners and its customers came out. Today I was supposed to leave on my adventure to Rome, Italy for a semester of study abroad. Packed and ready to go, I got the dreaded news early this morning that Winter Storm Ion has delayed my travels until tomorrow. I will fly to Philadelphia in the afternoon, followed by an overnight flight to Rome. I will be leaving behind the -50 degree windchill of Chicago and waking up in Rome on Wednesday morning to 60 degree temperatures and sunshine.
