Mixed experience

Stayed here Oct 4th as family in a "2 queen beds junior suite".

Generally place is clean and OK for the price but ....

Junior suite is just a decent size double room with a sink and microwave. I think of a suite as having a separate sitting area and this was not the case.

First room allocated was on the freeway side (noiser) and had a window that would not shut so asked for another room.

Allocated another room but this time next to some party people that kept us awake 1/2 the night. Walls are thin and staff confessed in the morning that our neighbors were "music people" who they thought might be noisy - gee thanks guys!

We got a 50% reduction on the room price but I'd have preferred the sleep myself.

Don't plan on walking if you stay here.

My husband & I went to LA for 4 nights and stayed at this hotel on Sunday, September 19th. We paid the manager special of $97/nt., the free parking and the free breakfast was really good -- which makes this an overall great rate. We drove to Universal, it seemed too far to walk (like 15-20mins), plus the hotel is on a busy street, and the area seems just OK, I wouldn't wanna' walk around there at night alone. The rooms were fine, had a fridge in the room, which was nice. The pool is small, and in a small cement room -- don't stay here just for the pool! I wished we would have spent the extra $50 bucks and stayed at the Sheraton that was much closer and looked really nice!

Lovely new rooms-convenient to Universal Studios

We stayed here for 3 nights on Sept 10-13th. I had pre-booked 2 of the nights and reserved a King, but the first night we stayed, we had only made the reservation a few days earlier, so there was only a double queen available. This room was huge, with a fridge, microwave, couch etc., but it faced the freeway, which was the quite noisy. The second 2 nights, we moved to our pre-booked King facing the back and it was lovely. Very large bed, comfortable room, very clean. The free breakfast was very satisfying and this hotel is a 15 min walk to Universal Studios. Good value for money-recommended.

Very pleasant

Nice new hotel, all attractions in Hollywood are nearby. Universal city is a walk away. Hotel is brand new, staff are polite, nice and quiet area.

Holiday Inn Express Cahuenga is a Jewel.

This Hotel was a great find. Comfortable, roomy, spotless! It is immaculate. We did not have prior reservations, but the very friendly helpful staff did all they could to help us stay for more nights. This Hotel was so very nice, we cancelled our plans to visit another city. The rooms, including the bathrooms were large. The rates were good for such top notch quality. Even with having to change rooms, day to day (We didn't have prior reservations) every one was very clean. The beds were so comfortable! We had spent some previous nights at a different hotel, and our backs were hurting. It was a real theraputic rejuvenation for our backs when we found this hotel. We slept very well. It was quiet. There is a washer and dryer nearby. There is also a free Continental breakfast, (which was better than most) that was replenished, kept cleaned and looked after nicely by the staff. The parking is free and nice.

I was amazed at the rominess we had for an "Express"! It is also very new. The staff, especially the Manager were flawless. I must say, this is the very best Hotel we EVER stayed at. Highest compliments to the staff at Holiday Inn Expresss Cuhuenga. We look forward to staying here again!

Loved it!!!

I stayed at this hotel based on other reviews and I was not disappointed. The room I had was very clean and looked fairly new. The staff was pleasant and helpful and the hotel has free parking. If you are going to Universal Studios, then it's in a great location. It's only about a 15 min walk from the hotel. This will save you $6 -10 dollars on parking at the park. If you are looking for places to eat within walking distance, then you should try the "California Café" it's about a couple of min down the street. This place has excellent Italian food, but it's a little on the pricey side. Also, just outside of Universal Studios is "City Walk" where you can find all the restaurants and shops that you may need. The only bad thing I have to say about this hotel is that the pool is a joke. It's about the size of hot tube and it's in a terrible location; right next to the underground parking lot. Not much of a view. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would stay here again.

Good stay

Stayed here 2 nights after new years. Good location for those going to Universal, would've been better if they had some sort of shuttle going there. The walls seem a bit thin b/c we were able to hear the couple next door :) but other than that it was a good stay.

Location, Location, Location

This hotel had a perfect location found right off the highway, only a few minutes away from Universal Studio and minutes away from Hollywood Blvd. The rooms have been renovated with a fridge, microwave and a bar sink and are spacious and very clean. The laundry room is conveniently located on the second floor, however, the dining area for the free continental breakfast was extremly small (just off to the side in the lobby) and we ended up taking the breakfast up to our room. Overall, this hotel was an excellent find in Hollywood with free parking.

Very New

This is a very new property. It is very clean. It is in a good location. Hollywood and Universal Studios is nearby. You need a rental car to get around. The staff was very friendly. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast buffet was delicious. There aren't any restaurants close by, so eat before you check in. I would recommend this hotel because of location and price.

Great Find, fabulous location, good value

Our family (2 adults 2 kids) recently spent 3 nights at this hotel in North Hollywood and would highly recommend it. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony. Good security all around. Amenities included a lovely heated pool adjacent to a courtyard, and a reasonable restaurant where kids eat free. The shuttle to Universal Studios was quick and easily accessed. Best of all, this hotel is located just off the freeway, minutes from the studios and from Hollywood, and can serve as a great base to explore all of the westside. Excellent value.
