... Life Refuge. It spanned nearly all the way to Lafayette LA from Baton Rouge. In my mind all I could hear was Shoot em Shoot em!! (Swamp People Show) out of the swamp. There were lots of flat bottom boats in the water. They must have been gator hunting.

Anyhow it'll be off to bed because we want to leave at 6:00 am, so we can hopefully get to Amarillo before it's night time and have some time to unwind.

Morning: 19 C (sunny with clouds) Afternoon: 25 C (overcast with rain) Up and out at the usual time of 9:30 AM. We headed over to the Armand Bayou Nature Center. But first to cover a story... A few days ago as we were hiking at the Huntsville state park we were on the lookout for alligators. As all y'all know, Mase's parents arrived on Wednesday afternoon but this blog is about our day-trip to Galveston (an island south east of Houston in the Gulf of Mexico, see map above).
It was about an hours drive to the island where we planned to have a walk around and then watch a 1/2 hr movie on the history of Galveston.
